My name is Azul-Valerie Thome, I live in North London born from a French mother and a Lebanese father. I am a deep artist, a facilitator of transformation and an earth lover as well as a mother of a 20 years old young man.
This new venture I call ‘eARTh in the City’ came while being on an Earth Pilgrimage in April and May this year. In my rucksack was a little purse with 2 paint brushes and a little box of paint and ink. The water would come from the rain, the stream or the sea and sometimes my own spit. Walking mostly in silence supported the growth of a different way of being intimate with Earth. I would stop often by a river, a tree, a rock or a flower to say thanks in images and more than not I would leave the eARTh work in its place, an expression of love in freedom with no attachment, more like a kiss to the wind or a passing leaf…
I have been an artist since childhood and love our Earth more each day. I love bringing life back in dead places and love reminding myself and others of the sacredness of life on Earth through growing/transforming/creating beauty, life and mystery into our lives … wherever we live …especially in cities. I have been a facilitator for 15 years in many different circles and situations intend to make it easier (facilitator (facile)=to make easy) for you to be intimate with your own eARTh through different games, practices, encouragements and holding of a creative sacred space.
I am here on a new adventure after co-founding and collaborating in the creation of FOOD from the SKY and Embercombe as well as the Meadow Orchard Project and Green on the Screen, Occupy the Seed, Give 5 a Day and thr River d’ART Project. All initiatives are containing the vision of a more integrated, healthy and loving world for planet and people.
